Together, we provide comprehensive door solutions, with ADW focusing on residential and commercial garage doors and MCD specializing in commercial walk-thru doors.

Gary Bechtold

CEO

Gary is the CEO and Owner of American Door Works and Mid Central Door. After decades of being involved in all aspects of the business, Gary is enjoying his current role where he works with his team to grow the business, while supporting its customers and community. It’s been especially satisfying for him to watch staff grow in their responsibilities and achieve success in their careers. Away from work, Gary enjoys biking, hosting trivia competitions, and spending time with his family.

Randy Utecht

Vice President of Sales and Operations

Randy is the Vice President of Sales and Operations for American Door Works. He began his career with the company as a Commercial Install Helper in 1998. Today, Randy oversees the general day-to-day operations of all ADW locations and enjoys the number of different hats he wears day-to-day in his role. He appreciates the well run, family-owned aspect of the company and is proud to have grown with the company through the years. In his free time, Randy spends time with his wife and two daughters running around to school activities and doing various projects around his wood shop.

Sarah Engdahl

Vice President of Finance and Administration

Sarah is the Vice President of Finance and Administration for American Door Works and Mid Central Door. She joined the company in 2021. She is responsible for the financial operations and is a member of the leadership team. She grew up in St. Cloud, graduated from the College of St. Benedict with degrees in Accounting and Management, and brings 15 years of experience in public accounting and banking with her. Sarah values the family-feel and collaborative culture of the company. When she’s not at work, Sarah enjoys spending time at the lake, being outside, and cheering on her kids at their activities.

Todd Larson

Director of Human Resources

Todd has a dedicated career in Human Resources and has been at our company since 2013. He is the Human Resources and Safety Director for American Door Works and Mid Central Door. In his 25 plus years of working in human resources, Todd feels that the employees of ADW & MCD are the best and most ethical that he’s worked with. In his spare time, Todd and his wife enjoy traveling and spending time watching Hallmark Christmas movies; they are on year-round.

Joe Klaphake

Operations Manager

Joe joined the company in 1994 after graduating from St. Cloud State University with a major in Business. During his time with the company, he has seen the company grow from one location to four. Joe has held many positions from scheduling, sales, commercial dept manager to his current position of Operations Manager. In this role he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the St. Cloud location and aids the Alexandria, Brainerd and Willmar locations. Joe enjoys working for a family-owned company where the value of trust and community are the core of everything they do. When Joe is not working you will find him working on a project, enjoying a good book, hiking, biking and spending a lot of time with family and friends. Joe is also an avid sports enthusiast taking in many local high school and collegiate sporting events.

Nathan Brown

Sales & Client Services Manager

Nate joined our team in 2015 and represents both American Door Works and Mid Central Door in his role as the Sales and Client Services Manager. His focus is on developing positive customer relationships, helping our customers be successful and providing excellent customer service to help us be the premier provider of residential and commercial doors and service in Central Minnesota. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team. He spends most of his free time enjoying time with his family and being an active fan of various sports teams (many times the two are combined). He’s missed two home Gopher football games since 1998. He enjoys watching and coaching his kids in their many sporting events and he and his wife enjoy traveling with their family.

William DeSchepper

Service Manager

William is the Service Department Manager at American Door Works, and since he started with the company in 2002 he has seen the service department double in size. He notes the long-standing relationships between the business and customers both residential and commercial as something to be proud of. He spends his days overseeing everything that goes through the service department including calls, customer interaction, and setting and managing goals with employees for expanding product lines and technology innovations. William stays busy outside of work keeping up with his four children. Having grown up on a farm, William says outdoor activities are a big part of his life including gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Todd Mattison

Division Manager - Willmar

Todd is the division manager of the Willmar branch, and has been with American Door Works since 1998. He credits his longevity to the ownership, culture, and the fact that it’s fun to work for a company that is a leader in the industry. In his role, Todd handles the day-to-day operations of the store. This includes overseeing selling, accounting, human resources, and scheduling for his staff of eight. When he’s not at work, you can find Todd outdoors hunting or fishing on the lake he and his wife live on. His other passion is a cappella music, and he sings in a barbershop quartet, directing the chorus. He grew up watching his dad perform as a singer and followed suit. Todd also is involved with broadcasting and has been the voice of the Willmar Cardinal hockey team for years, and coached his kids when they were younger.

Tina Watson

Division Manager - Brainerd

I grew up in Fergus Falls MN and then went to Bemidji MN where I attended Bemidji Sate University and received my Bachelors in Business Administration. I lived there for 10 years before moving to Brainerd MN and starting at American Door Works in 2021 as a Sales Consultant and am now a Division Manager. I love working in the construction industry and seeing projects come to fruition. It brings great pleasure knowing I was a part of helping in some way improve or build someone’s home or business. American Door Works also provides the flexibility to balance my work and home life. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my daughter and family, gardening, reading, hunting and fishing, and trying to live life to the fullest. Those who know me know that I love the hot weather and fully take advantage of summer and the outdoors while it lasts.

Tom Donlin

Division Manager - Alexandria

Tom is the Division Manager of the Alexandria Branch. He came to American Door Works in 2019 with an extensive Retail “Big Box” Management background. Tom subscribes to the Service First – One-and-Done mantra to ensure customer satisfaction. His attention to customer expectations ensures that satisfaction. Tom affects daily operations at the Alexandria Branch including Human Resources, Accounting and Sales. Tom’s outside interests include the outdoors, Family and Community Volunteer Events. Tom will always find time for a good cribbage game and counts many customers as friends willing to have a game.
